I chose to use a snap hook at the attach/detach side which was relativity expensive compared to the rest of the setup. I added a red ball to the snap hook release to make it easier to grab with gloves and cold fingers. The snap cord should be tied above the Spectra on both ends. The snaphook also adds a safety feature by allowing me to disconnect and possibly get out of my harness if needed in an emergency.
I was able to test this sliding hook today. It worked as planned. Another kite boarder thought the red ball I added would catch and release too easily. He was right. Aside from removing the red ball, I only needed to adjust the sliding line length. All in all, it worked as expected

I am too but I was out for 2.5 hours hacking up rights at my local spot yesterday, due to the wind angle, had I not had the Dynabar, the session would have been a complete write off. Even when I show people the bar, and explain how good it is, they are still really wary of it… It’s crazy… Try it out and if you don’t like it I’ll eat my shorts.

I am too but I was out for 2.5 hours hacking up rights at my local spot yesterday, due to the wind angle, had I not had the Dynabar, the session would have been a complete write off. @Salmon Slayer I don't like to make home made equipment, I think a company does a lot of test before releasing a product and look is also nice, you should also take care of look

Dakine stopped making the pyro with a the posi lock belt in 2008 or 09. I am still using one today and love it. It allows the hook to move from side to side.
So they designed that mini sliding bar for the new harness 08 and on. I have not tried it. Same idea, but maybe a little less side to side movement.
Dakine is making a "windsurfing" harness now that has the old set up called "t6", like to give a try. You can not use just the spreader bar alone, you need the sliding pads as well. They do not recommend the t6 for kiting use.
These harnesses did wear out the sliding belt, so you have to check your gear often and replace strap earlier rather than later.
Cannot comment on the other products, I have not used them.

I never use that frame ; only the cord, and i "Love" it !! It would be quite impossible for Me to go toe-side without the use of the Dynabar-V7, since i kite with double-prosthetic or Two Fake legs. **If anyone cares to have that frame, see me at Mohave and it's yours for a 6-pack of Guinness beer, you can help me drink it.
