I really like the North straps..i have 2010 and 2011 models....very comfy with soft "flexzone" edges
I am pretty sure the more current models from North 2012-2013 are excellent also

No, directional footstraps should be completely symmetrical.. equally easy to use from either side. Good ones are hard to find since most straps are made for twin tips and are not symmetrical.
Here are some NSI ones from bigwinds.com, although I have not tried these. If your can find the North ones anywhere. they are comfy.

Those are for their twin tips asymmetrical
They look like that symmetrical so you can of couse jibe and use both sides of them
I found for you a set for sale on E-BAY...looks like great price
