Vegas 12m LW supplement

Postby kas911 » Sun Mar 31, 2013 4:56 pm

Hi

I am looking for a cheap used lightwind kite supplement to my 7-9-12 2011 North Vegas kites. What would you guys suggest I should be looking for?

It will mainly be for cruising and a little bit of UH and jumping. In other words = freeriding (and upwind) When the wind picks up I will be on my 12 doing regular freestyle

A 5 line kite would be perfect so I can fly it on my current North bars

I am 90 kg (~200 lbs) and currently ride LF kaos 136*42,5 and do not own a real LW board

I was thinking about a used Dyno. But i'm a little worried if they are to fragile/worn out because of the design concept

Best regards :bye:

I've been riding the 2011 Dyno for over a year. 50+ sessions and no signs of wear at all. At first I was worried it would be fragile because it is so light, but nothing has happened to it. I do a lot of self launching because I'm the only one out in less than 10 knots, but no noticable wear on the leading edge (we do have soft sand beaches). Still magically hangs in the air through the lulls :D

My next smallest kite down from the 18m Dyno is an 11m Rebel. At 15 knots I'm overpowered on the Dyno (75kg). 11m Rebel is definitely ridable in 15 knots on a twin tip, but I'd rather be on a 13 or 14m kite. Guessing 12m Vegas has about the same low end as a 11m Rebel, so you might have a gap if you go with the 18m.

Thank you! I think Dyno 16 (old one) is the way to go. But maybe a Rebel 14 can do the trick as well...

OR I could buy a freerace board  I wonder what would give the best low-end. A 12 m2 and a freerace, or a 16 m2 and a TT.....?
