By the way, after triying the VG, I changed board with a friend and tried a Slingshot T-rex 5`4. Nothing to compare. It was like riding a surfboard (VG) and an Iron Board or a door(t-rex) only the nose was similar...risuguay wrote:Hi everybody.
I 've tried today 5'4 VG in 25 knots, onshore conditions (mainly in gran canaria) and 5 m North Neo 2014. My weight is 73 kilos (161lb), and 1.77 tall.
I really loved it, but talking to some friends who has tried it, told me i should buy 5'2 better. Even a friend of mine who tried it after me, and he weights 90 kilos, told me he would pick up 5´2.
The thing is that i' m slowing in gybing, and learning to tacking, and even in surfing, use to leave the weight to back so the board slow down. But with the vanguard never of this things happened.
Have anybody tried 5'2 and 5´4 and noticed too much diference (3 liters). What do you recomend me to do? i will use it with 14 to 30 knots, but mainly 15-23 knots.
thanks for your answers
I haven't tried the vanguard in bigger waves, so I can't say for sure, but I think I would want a different board for that. I would think there's just too much width in the tail and not enough rocker.Slappysan wrote:I wonder if Firewire will ever offer the Vanguard with inserts. It's nice to have them there for certain conditions even if you don't need them most of the time.
I just made my own (pix to come) , and I use stick on strap pads. Works absolutely awesome.Slappysan wrote:I wonder if Firewire will ever offer the Vanguard with inserts. It's nice to have them there for certain conditions even if you don't need them most of the time.
