Eat more pies and drink more beer...then keep your new pie and beer waist above the harness and it won't ride up any more.....

You'll be a fat dude...but that's not the problem you're trying to solve...

But half seriously fit is 'everything' in harnesses. That is why the pros go custom fit and if you can afford it go that way too. If not...try as many as you can and keep trying until you find a harness that feels right on you. More expensive harnesses will not necessarily fit you better...though they might be built better, have more features, and last longer. That said, if you knacker your back with a quality harness that doesn't fit well you won't have achieved anything. Whereas if you knacker a cheaper harness that fits you perfect because you're comfortable and get out lots you'll be a happy camper.

Must say, not sure I agree fully...

A "perfect fit" harness is sometimes not good :o

Meaning, if it fits so it sits just right, without load, or just with a "test" load in a rope, it might NOT work when under load on the water for longer time.

I've tried and had so many harnesses during the years, and even those that was sitting PERFECT on me, was not bullseye when kiting for many hours, and led to light pain :-?

The stress points, and the stiffness of different parts of the harness, will be deciding - and that is not always possible to know in advance IMO, not even if a custom build :(

It is really such a fine balance, and not that easy - and if one finds a harness that suits - stay with it forever, or as long as possible.

I did, that didn't work so I lost weight. Still a problem.

When I'm falling on my back, say, the water pushes the harness up. Seat is the only way to stop that happening to the degree the waist rides up...

Hi,

Have you ever tried a good fitting kite vest?
That works perfectly fine for me (and saved a few damages to my corpus).

Cheers

I'm using XXL harnesses from Dakine cos they're the only ones that fit. I doubt an impact vest would fit either :(

I'm sorry to hear. :(
"Location: Japan" - maybe Sushi instead of Western food helps? :D
