2014 Nugget - anyone ride yet?

Got to ride one yesterday, very briefly in light wind with a small kite... it tracked a very straight line and felt more locked into the tack than my Dialer does.

Have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with the front 2 fins being tall and square like mini race fins, not curved back like regular surf fins. Want to experiment with my board now :D

Was it the 5'5" you tried?
Our kite store just got the 5'5" in for a customer
I took a look at the Quad fins
The 2 front ones are just like last year..surf style shape..medium size..
....not tall and square like race fins

The 2 back fins are different than last year's surf style...now with a straighter leading edge...
....not that tall... yes not curved back...more efficient to track i would think

I'll have my 5' 5 Friday. I'll let u know how it compares to 2013 Nugg. Will do back to back Test.

Yup, 5' 5".

Which way is front and back? :D the fins towards the nose were the taller, straighter ones...

I think the Bullet that's floating around is much the same set up too.

Had same experience with 2014 Nugget that I borrowed for a few minutes, could not get it to turn tight so I gave it back to owner... weird...

I am a chubby chaser too! I bought two first edition nuggets. I fell in love with my first one and quickly learnt they weren't built for my heavy weight and riding style. After I mushed and cracked the deck of my first one I handed it over to a friend who cut out portions of the deck to vacum bag some divinicell and cloth to sturdy it up. Bought a back up during repairs. Many friends have offered to buy one of mine after trying them but no dice as I need a back up. Fin boxes suck. They float in foam. I have had a few go and luckily one of my shops has a nice template router set up to replace and beef up. I haven't ridden the slingshot wake and kite look alikes but want to. I picked up the slingshot kite version at a shop and it seemed really heavy. Can't see that being as lively as the older nugget. Need to try it to find out.

Owned the 2012. Riding the 2014 now. Different board, still fun. Bit bouncier, easier to tack, tracks more, easier to turn, tighter turning. Less upwind, slightly, less lowend, slightly, little less playfull.
