Hey,

September will be a light wind. You better plan on big board or surfboard. I think the bad months are September, October and some of November then the trade wind blow. But you know how that goes.

Expensive is all in the eyes of the beholder. There are lots of options check out VRBO and do a Provo search for some examples.

They have a place listed that is nice.

They have a shop over on the Grace Bay side.

I would also recommend Avis for the car rental. They look like they just got a brand new fleet.
I used Payless and it was a hunk of junk rental.

Here is a picture from the other side of the island.

I am not certain what this place would run you for a week even if you could rent it.

I think that place has a draw bridge you have to cross to get to it. Its on the south side.

I agree with Clew In...September probably won't be a good time to kite but it is a great time to be in TCI...no crowds and better deals on accommodations. RWI (Royal West Indies) is probably one of the best/affordable places to stay on Grace Bay yet it is situated a little far from the shopping and dining you'll find in the vicinity of the Regent Grand or Salt Mills Plaza. If you don't plan to kite or site see, staying in the Regent Grand area is where I'd suggest so you won't have to rent a car...check on vrbo.com.

We always stay at RWI. Here is a photo from a few years back kiting right there. Usually too offshore there so I head over to Long Bay. Need a car for that though.

The wind angle is better towards the Regent and Grace Point for Grace Bay kiting.

Vacaloca...we've been in Provo every September since 2003 and we'll probably be back next September. If, by chance, there's wind...we should hook-up.
