Not sure what the point of using a foil in the surf is. If I recall Laird Hamilton originally used a foil at Jaws in an attempt to get over the chop on big waves while surfing. Foils seem to be ideal for racing, allowing the board to get above the chop, resulting in faster times.

One of the things I realized from watching quadcopter footage of kitesurfing is that the filmmaker has fear of the kite, resulting in keeping the copter out of reach of the kite. The result is footage similar to strapping a gopro to the kite, ending up with the kiter as a tiny speck. This is not a problem with surfing, as "pilots" are able to get real close to the action.

Great to see people experimenting with this technology, nice work.

I am very interested to know what parameters you were using to get your result. :?:

What a waste of beautiful waves with that foil.

Sorry to disappoint you :(

No deshaker, no gadgets.
Just a raw footage from the GoPro Black fitted to a kite and then Pinnacle Studio 16 with a pivot point tool & keymarks. Brilliant and instinstive tool. Dead simple to use. Highly recommanded :bye:

You are right. I was recording guys who weren't aware of filming and they could act strangly. I already lost one phantom with GoPro3 camera. Imagine my pain :(
My daughter, who have never flown a remote device, got a bit better results as I was aware of filming that time:
