Hi Guys if any one is looking to have a great vacation kitesurfing in the most amazing spot in greece and need any Info please contact me and have a look at this spot.
Greece - Naxos – Mikri Vigla
Even if Mikri Vigla is well known by the windsurfers since many years, it was discovered by the kiteboarders only in the recent time. The surprise when you arrive is big! How a beautiful beach like this can have such a strong constant side shore wind, that's what you ask yourself. It's because the wind is accelerated by a Venturi effect in the channel that divide Naxos from Paros. That's also the reason why normally here is windy when nowhere else it is.
How to get to Naxos
By airplane to Athens then to Naxos (internal flight). Else is possible to go (by taxi, metro or bus) from the airport of Athens to the port (Pireus) then take a boat to Naxos. The fast boat take 3 hours
Things to do
Kitesurfing, windsurfing, and in no wind days (very few) wakeboarding The island is the biggest and most beautiful of Cyclades for beaches, villages and food In the night in town you find many bars and clubs open till morning.
I have kited here 3 consecutive summers 2006-7-8 for total of 8 weeks. Good spot, quite choppy with small windwaves. Bring your 9 or 7 m kite.
In late July and august the spot is way crowded with windsurfers. They dragrace in a line/zone and its hard to get out past them. They stack their boards with giant sword fins pointing up just down wind of kite launch. Generally they are nice, but i ran into a few assholes.
In June and early July its not problem. 10 min walk away on north side of penninsula is beach in Lee with Georges restaurant on beach- perfect place for the kids and swimming. Many families are there. Nice atmosphere.
MV is great place to get away from touristy crap. We got to know the local Taverna owners- mostly family run, and they love children and are super people. Food is simple but very good.
There are some inexpensive apartments just 200m from beach
I live in Sweden, fly to Santorini on charter flight, take Blue Line ferry from there to Naxos. Bus or taxi to MV.
