At the bottom of the link was this information -

Kitesurfing, risk activity?

Gathered at the marina of the Coast White Wednesday morning, firefighters and municipal preferred preventing the ban. In the "danger zone" between the reef and the island Sainte-Marie, two rounds of daily awareness were implemented especially among kitesurfers, many in the area. Is there a particular risk in this sport? "The majority practice on shallow water, and the risk is low, Philippe meets Tirard shark specialist. But when there is the bottom, and the boards off and landing, they can be mistaken for birds, preferred prey of tiger sharks. From below, the towed body in water can also be likened to fish caught in the troll. "The rainy season is particularly prone to attacks" waste drained attract large nearest coastal species. Besides we are in coupling phase, he said, sharks are more excited. "The messages of support to the victim flourished in the growing community of kitesurfing. i know it was not while riding (stopped) but I got no doubt that some sharks will mistake a foil/ er for food. Skimming just below the surface like a lure! not gonna stop me tho

The kiter is Laurent Borgna and he is the tester of our products and was one of the first wave riders to use sliding hook DYNABAR. I'm really shocked but in NC shark attack is a risk kiters know.
This video is him surfing in NC and I hope he will be back soon.
