Some amazing riding from the top of the fleet last week. There was almost no wind on the start line and a reasonable amount 50 yards from the committee boat. At one stage before the start I considered switching from my 9m to my 7m, but should have been on my 11m. The large number of DNF's in the second race were mostly DNS's. We just couldn't get across the start line! There was also a lot of fog making it really hard to find the windward mark and making laylines really hard to hit. Anyway there's all my excuses in one go. That top group certainly showed some amazing speed and really close racing, at least as they came flying past me downwind! Hoping for better conditions this week. Big month of racing coming up in May.

Thanks for posting. It sounds like the top guys are all on foils. Congratulations to Erica for being the top raceboarder.
Does everyone start together (foils and raceboards). And how long are the races.. do the top guys typically finish in 15 min or 30 min or longer? We are planning our seasons races and we aren't sure how to include foilers this year for the first time.

Currently everyone is starting together, but it may change later in the season. It seemed to work fine last race. The target time is 15 minutes, but 1st place usually comes in around 12 minutes (I'm often still on the downwind going past the finish as they cross the line
) You have 15 minutes to finish after the 1st person crosses the line. This means a complete race could take up to ~30 minutes. As soon as either the last person finishes, or the time expires the sequence for the next race starts. We get two races in early in the season but usually manage three later on.

Wow, very impressive results for Spotz, a small one-man company from Britanny, France. Also the cheapest foil on the French market, that gives a nice performance-to-price ratio.
It's a pity that mine was broken last week by a swimming dog, no joke

I care for the innocence swimming dog. You didn't cut him in half did you?
