Nobile Kites with Epic Control Bar

Postby Seawalker » Thu Apr 24, 2014 8:24 am

Hi All,

Apologies if this or similar has been asked before.

Just wanted to know if the Epic Bar is compatible with Nobile Kites? They look similar but thought someone on here might know specifically.

I have 3 different manufacturers bars (Epic's is my fave bar, and most similar to Nobile's). I have an option for a deal on a 12m 50Fifty kite only, but its online so I cannot compare bars.

I can post measurements (depower, trim strokes etc.) of the epic bar if it helps.

Cheers,
Rosco

Nope, your kite will deathloop before you can even attach all your lines. This will cause a horrific and very public accident that will be covered ad nauseum in the local media, loosing everyone access to the beach that you were at. You will then be shunned from every other local spot by the community and forced to give up kiting and take up stamp collecting.

If they are both 2 line flagging, then yes. If one is a one line flagging system, I don't think so but I don't know %100 and I've been drinking.

Hi NCNomad, thanks for fast reply but are you being sincere? Most kites will loop if you don't attach all the lines and attempt to fly. I know some brands bars are compatible/incompatible when interchanged, do you have experience behind the Nobile/Epic mix or are do you just think mixing bars and kite brands is a bad idea in general?

As long as your kite requires a bar with equal line lengths your good. Most 4 libe bars are compatable as far as I know. If the ends dont match as in one ia kook proof one is not most kite places sell pks kookprrof things. I Had to use them when I used my epc bar on my Best kite till I could get another bar.

All in all it should work fine if Nobile requires an equal line 4 line bar. Maybe someone can chime in about single and dual line safety but my best single works on my epic kite(I had the 2 line safety epic bar) and it should all be compatible.

Hi Drew,

That's along my train of thought. Obviously I am asking as I do not wish to be unsafe. If the kite fly's on equal lines of similar length and the depower/trim strokes are the same or close there shouldn't be erratic kite behavior, especially considering there are uni-bars sold that supposedly work on any 4-line kite that uses a bar with equal line lengths.

My first question should more specifically asked:
Do Nobile kite bars have equal line lengths when fully powered?

Lol I was just joking around after a few drinks. If you read the fine print in my post you'll see some helpful info.

Didn't see the fine print, do now. :)

Well the epic bar can be set up as 2 front line flagging (as it is now) or one front line flagging. I have all the info I need on the bar as I own one, it's the Nobile info I really need.

Rosco,

Lines on Nobile bar are equal in length when fully sheeted in, it releases to one inside line.
It will fly fine on your Epic bar - 50/50 is a great kite, btw.
Also, short pigtails on outside lines, anout 1 inch in length.

Cheers Kuczwas,
Thanks for confirming. Yeah the 50/50 seems like my kind of kite, and had great reviews. Is the 12m still fast flying (relatively speaking)?
