Summer Kitesurfing Trip suggestions wanted

Postby dracop » Fri May 23, 2014 10:18 pm

Ok, so summer has arrived and the wind is dead. Here in S Florida we were blessed with about 10 days of phenomenal winds in the 20-30 mph wind range everyday for last two odd weeks. But I want to keep kitesurfing and the wind has flown away :(

Fortunately, the Caribbean is nearby and I am fluent in Spanish. So...where should I go?

Aruba is very reliable in terms of wind, been there before and enjoyed it. Its also fairly expensive.

Cabarete looks interesting, has that island trade wind reliability and is probably abit cheaper than Aruba. I like exploring new places so that's a plus too.

Antigua looks interesting, I know little about it though.

If anyone on here has first hand experience with these places, how would you rate them for doing a week kitesurfing trip in June?

In June you really can't beat the outer banks in NC. Wind is super consistent and you have a ton of different options for where to ride if you want waves or flat water. I'd be going there if I wasn't going to the gorge for the summer.
