Unexpected troubles with 313

Postby Crocket » Fri Jun 20, 2014 11:59 am

Hey guys,

somehow I managed to do this trick last year, but after practicing again I just crash it.

My problem is the following:

After I pass the bar, I tend to lean too much forward, put too much weight on the front foot and fly towards the kite.

It might be easy to figure out the problem,
but I don't have a clue to solve it :-? .

Does anyone know how to deal with this?

(Video might follow later today...)

In the air try to tilt your shoulders in to the wind throughout the pass.

Also don't let the bar out. I used to extend my arm after all my passes and that would result in the kite pulling my upper body over the toe side rail......I'd then dig in my nose and slam my face in to the water

So keep the bar low and close to your hip. Not as easy as it sounds but it will help

That dig-the-nose-into-the-water part is exactly, what happens to me mostly.

As you mentioned that one should keep arms close to the hip...
I think I don't do that. For sure I will give it a try today :thumb:

@zloilyoha:

I use Naish Torch, which I really like for unhooked tricks.

Why do you ask?

p.s.: If it was so easy, I would have nailed a 315 already

just joking) - the digging of a front tip is a nice oppurtunity to push backfoot more forward for 315)

it`s still no video from you..
though i can assume that you`re kepping your kite too high and also you, maybe, don`t have enough speed
my advice is:

kep the kite a little bit lower
kepp you`re arms more closer to your body
realy bend your knees (like you`re trying to sit) during the rotation before the pass
try to not staighten out your elbow after the pass

Thanks for all the hints: :thumb:

I figured out that I extended my arms too early after the pass.

ATM I mostly get it right, but in sketchy conditions and espacially if I'm exhausted  I still tend to mess up some tricks.
