Bille - Pretty sure, yes.

Speed3 is much easier to use than a Speed2, but the S2 19 was as good in light wind and upwind as the S3 21, maybe better... but a whole lot more of a handful. I've heard that the Chrono is more like a well-tuned S2... so I don't think it'd be a hard task for FS to make a race foil. I'm sure they're interested in making a BETTER race foil though!

Ha haa, just like using pulleys (working great on the North kites btw) as they also do now, "Aw boss, do I have to?"

Flysurfer has never been a great race kite, I'm not sure they have ever cared? chronos and elf were designed to win races that's the difference. Competition is good! I bet we'll see flysurfer design a race kite for 2015 that is decent.

a good question would be:

do companies make money with foil race kites?

How many foils will be sold and how many given to team riders?

exactly!

it is only matters if every day kiters start to buy them. i don't think there will be a remarkable niche for this kites. those high level racers are too few in numbers. and even if the average joe would buy this foil, it will be so narrow usage kite, nobody would ever update it every year or even every three years!

that is why north decided to just pay for the placing logo on the elf, imo

I dunno Toby. There were a lot of Chronos in that video. I would suspect most of them were purchased. I think any kite that is selling as fast as they are produced (or, so I hear) is successful.

I have little doubt Flysurfer will be stepping up with an all out dedicated race kite. But, it would rub against the grain of their "Everyday is a kite day" motto. They have a stated goal of making user friendly gear. They, like Ozone, would need to caution riders with a "this kite isn't for just anybody" caveat.

I do look forward to seeing what they come up with...

Well, if the race foils are not as comfortable and user friendly, then Flysurfer does not need them, right?

Go try to buy a chrono right now, there are only a few people I found with them in stock. Otherwise they are already scooped up or pre-paid for when they arrive. My experience at least.

Not every racer can be sponsored by Ozone (or elf) anyway, so some of those were not freebies, at least not straight from Ozone. Everyone sponsored by someone other than Ozone (or elf) for kites has to deal with the dilemma right now if they are racing where foil kites have not been excluded.
