Which Bar for Bandit 7

Postby TomR » Wed Oct 01, 2014 9:50 am

Hi,

i just got a set of Bandits 2014 and now i just need a bar.
Kitesize is 12 + 9

Is the new bar (2014) more stable than the old ones against corrosion ?

What alternatives work with the Bandits ?

Does the Bandit work with a Single Front Line Safty ?

Thanx
Tom

The new Fone bars don't suffer from corrosion.
But, the 9m needs a smaller bar than the 11m so either you get two bars or buy another brands bar that has the option to change lengths.

I have the 2014 Bandit 12m with the 2014 large bar. I like safety system and such. So far i haven't any issues with corrosion but i rinse the bar and safety system after each session.

I might get an 8m or a 9m down the line but I will probably just use the same large bar. You just get a little more leverage but shouldn't be an issue i am not planning on doing any unhooked trick with kite loop.
Though it is true that they recommend the smaller bar for 9m.

10m and smaller recommends the 45cm bar. On the 10m you don't notice much difference with a 52cm bar but at 9m and smaller kite sizes I really suggest the 45cm bar. using the large bar on a 9m and smaller kite just makes it fly not the same and I can easily notice it. Still fly's don't get me wrong but just not as designed.

I just got me a Fresh crispy new 8m 2015 Bandit 8 but haven't got to ride it yet   Hopefully will ride in the next few days when the easterlies arrive oh yah!!!

Bandit safety pulls both center lines. Not had any issues with it in 5 years I have been riding them. What is nice about the 2 line flag outs is the bar doesn't go all the way to the kite when released making it easy to reconnect and keep riding. The only thing I have had to do from time to time is if it doesn't flip over or land dead for a couple of reasons; close to water so doesn't roll all the way over before landing, no wind or power to extend safety line all the way to stopper, is to grab the mini 5th line and give it a yank and kite tips over dead in the water.

I teach over 100 students a year on the F-One Trust and Bandit kites and use the safety system every day in every lesson without issue. Makes my untangling the lines after self rescues every lesson really easy and time saving. Nothing worse than untangling spaghetti bunched lines from a bar going all the way to the kite, as an instructor I would quit if I had to fix that mess every day.

Also, the 2014 and 2015 Bars are now center push away release!!! No more side Velcro release No corrosion issues with any 2013 or later Monolith bars, Bandit 6 thru Bandit 8.

Thanks for your replies !

I think i will give the F-One Bar a chance.
I flew the Bandit Dos with the original Bar and never had trouble
with and when pulling the QR.

I was more afraid of the corrosion, but when it's gone in the new models.....

I like the lightness of the bar and of the stearing of the F-One Bars a lot ..

Greetings
Tom

Grab a Switchkites bar or a discounted North, you will have 45 and 55cm setting with only one bar, you need to fly the 12m on 55cm and the 9m on the 45cm. F-one bar Swivel don't work... On the Switch or the North you have a reliable release and two swivels : one automatic and one on manual on the QR. I had F-one bar by the past I can't trust this brand anymore, too many issues.

I've been using an ozone bar (single front line flag out) with a Bandit 6.

Works fine :thumb:

lots of bars out there will work. I have even used a Blade uni bar. Ocean rodeo is popular bar as well, I just don't recommend the 2013 bar, it breaks easy, a friend of mine has gone thru 2 ocean rodeo bars on his bandits in one year, the end caps pull right off the bar. plastic junk......
