you guys know there is a this sport called paragliding. Seems like it might be more up your alley. Its pretty cool because you can face forward and you get a nice comfy chair to sit in with a reserve shoot strapped to your ass.

also....neither of those really seem like jumps by definition of what a jump is. Both cases you're just falling slowly from the elevation at which you started. more like a glide than a jump IMO. I'll bet it was really scary though. I certainly wouldn't want to be that high up with no reserve.

I hope you have good insurance. Looks like fun , but gliding down a mountain on a Kite does not really look like a bright idea. Kites are not built or designed to do this safely , BUY A PARAGLIDER BEFORE YOU DIE!!!!

I have the 8 fx...if you would the same wind range of sb 7, then ok go for 8fx...
8 10 and 12 or 8 10 and 14 is perfect set of 3 kites fx
I use 12 10 and 8 i'm 73 kg and i use all the 3 kites... this set for me is perfect from 12knot until 35knots
shawn13 wrote:I recently dumped a 2013 7m SB and am thinking of picking up the 8m FX as a replacement. Our small kite winds are usually gusty and lull to a 10m size from a 7.

Anyone have experience on the 7 or 8m fx?

Thanks. How does the 8 handle gusty conditions?

What do you think the low end of the 8 is for you in kts? My 7 was more like a 6 from 2013....

I've read that the FX jumps higher than the Chaos? Is this true? Wouldn't a five strut kite be more aero efficient and more stable in gusty over powered winds than the FX?

They both seem about the same aspect ratio...

I don't think that's correct according to this graphic, if this graphic is a true scaled representation...?

Now I had two sessions on the fx 10. It does jump high but there is no hang time (and no bar pressure). I like the feeling of the kite but I am worried I will miss the hang time/grunt of the sb...

Has any one had any problems with the durability of the double rip stop on your FX?

I previously had a quiver of 2012 SBs and flew them tons without any canopy issues.

With my new FX, I've already had to patch it four times.

Nothing has changed with my riding or the way I treat my kite, which is always good, but the material definitely seems significantly less durable IMO.
