If you have the free return that solves much of the issue. FWIW I had a top end kite brand wetsuit and the seam weld on the outside fell off after five weeks, rendering the suit useless.

One thing that might be interesting to do is to have Cleanline take a photo of the ankle cuffs of the three suits next to each other, so you can see at a glance the thickness of the neoprene in each one. 5mm can mean different things to different brands.

there really is no better wet suit than the patagonia 5/3 R4 i think. water here is 36f now. been kiting straight through the winter. its expensive. I've had mine for three years and still solid

Smooth skin rubber suits are WAY warmer for a given thickness, therefore for the same warmth you get less weight, more flexibility and usually a thinner suit will fit better and be more comfortable to wear.
