As I get closer and closer back to my surfing roots, I am really beginning to see how the dynabar could offer a huge advantage to surfing the waves. The only problem is, I really enjoy throwing powered kiteloops and jumping off the waves on the way back out. Is the Dynabar Ok with this type of riding? Are there any other options? Thanks in advance.

A sliding hook has few issues in power kiteloops with body rotation because of the sliding effect, specially if you are used to the pull on the harness/hook (you can also use more pull on bar/arms like when unhooked)..
But you can solve the problem :
1. Use the combination fix hook sliding rings (or bearing balls) and hook in when you do a power loop

2. Hanging more on bar/arms will limit the sliding issue, by training you should find the right balance.
We hope it helps to understand.

I'm totally into riding waves, but I also love boosting airs on the way back out and on transitions. The dynabar really helps your natural body positioning and flow while riding waves because the center of pull from the kite shifts to a more natural position. Jumping with the dynabar takes a couple of sessions to get used to, but once you are comfortable with it, you don't feel any different. I only use the dynabar, and have been for years.
But it's not for everyone, I've had 2 friends who couldn't get comfortable with it.
I'm on my 3rd version of the bar. Earlier bars had cracking issues on the frame and the sliding bar. My current bar is solid, but they still haven't figured out the sliding hook plastic bushing issue.
It still wears unevenly and develops flat spots.
I've had my two older bars welded and use them as back ups.
Because of the bar my kitesurfing is pretty much on par as my surfing as far as positioning and flow.
I love this bar and will live with its shortcomings, and will order another when they get their hook bushing issue figured out.
Hope this helps
Aloha kp

Thanks guys, I'm sold after the vid. Also went to the local shop today today and was told kiteloops aren't really an issue even using the sliding hook. Thanks again.

a great product, incredible service and even more importantly it make it a lot easer to kite in the waves....less twisting torque on my knees.....took a few hours to get used to the sliding harness and now would not dream going out without it, twin tip or directional!

I will never use anything else ! I have a ride engine harness jaybar combo w the rope not the bar. It works great in all conditions. My only complaint is the rope seems to burn out prematurely. It takes a minute to get used to the dynabar but after you do,youll never go back to a fixed hook.

I have used the DaKine Maniac sliding hook for a year.
Slides smoothly with just enough drag.
No issues, no problems.
$60 from Windance with free shipping.
