I am a Dane and I am against this. In fact I think all Danes are against this. But how to stop it? The Faroe Island is an Island very far away from Copenhagen where I live. They got there own goverment, so I cant even vote against the politics up there. So all we can do is like is done here, which is show our dislikeness all over the internet and make the Faroes realise that when you kill animals is should be in a "human" way and not a slaughter. Off cause we need to kill the animals to get food, but the way we treat the animals should be in a respectfull way. And this goes for chickens, cows, pigs etc. too!!

I am glad at least some Danish is opposed to this slaughter.

The thing that is sad about this is that it's simply really stupid.
It is a known fact that the meat derived from this hunt is unheathy to the point that the same government that protects the hunt recommends that the meat not be eaten by children, women thinking of having children and only once a month by others.
Regardless of the ethical aspects of this it's just simply an old tradition kept going by the ignorant
and the authorities that have their head up their own ass.
That said these magnificent whales are better off than than chickens, pigs and cattle in industrialized food production.
I wonder who many critics here buy chicken and want it cheap.
While I dislike the whale hunt I do not agree with shaming Denmark. Most Danes most likely dislike the hunt too. Just like most Japanese dislike killing Dolphins.
The Faroe Islands are incredibly beautiful. It is sad to taint that beauty with the whale hunt.
Really stupid IMO as it can't be good for the image of the islands,
Go and google images the Faroe islands and see how beautiful they are.
Well said... but this is a kite surfing forum about sport, while you're there Hawaiis, why not start a thread on Shame on the US...another Afro-American/cinema/college/soldier gets shot up?

I kite in the ocean, and the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean are connected, there is just one big ocean on this earth. The blood of those whale slaughtered were left in this ocean. We need to stop this thinly disguised "tradition". How long has the power boats been around? If they are Inuit people on a canoe, killing one or two, I can agree that is their cultural tradition. Hundreds of whales with power boats, that is just disgusting.

Not saying you don't have a point, but whilst you are on the moral high ground, how about this?
