Price of used kites

Postby Bille » Tue Jul 28, 2015 3:45 pm

WOW
the price of used kites , sure went up, since the last time I looked ,(2 years ago) !!

I bin mostly flying HG, the last two years, and wanted to get a back-up 13M Ozone Edge , to
have for late season kiting this year. The Edge I have, is a 2013 model , and I had paid $650 for
it, (and it wasn't even one year old at the time) . Edges in the 13M range, are near a grand now. :(

Guess i'll just have to be careful with the kite I have, and purchase a new line
set for it. Who has the deal on new lines for an Ozone ? A-wind-of-change has
moved to Utah , or i'd just go down there and make a Q-power set ; that isn't an
option any longer.

Unless you want to make them yourself this is the best price I can find on the net

http://switchkites.com/parts/kite/flyin ... etwbr.html

only 20m but they also sell extensions

On the other hand you can get

Dyneena SK-95 12 strand and make your own 23m lines for roughly the same price.

Depends where you are at . Here in the Gorge , I couldn't get $300 for a 2010 Slingshot 10 meter RPM with zero damage , repairs, etc. I lowered the price to $250 and thought i will keep it as a back up before it give it away.

There are less ozone edges out there now. Why?

Each year racers dump last years kite in favour of this years slightly faster kite.
For years that was the ozone edge.

Racers are now using chrono/R1 instead. So the freeride crew using using edges tend to hold on to them for longer

I'm noticing the same thing here in NZ. Used to be a steady stream of edges now.... a lot less. I've been waiting for a reasonably priced 7m edge for a long time.

I have a 7m edge for sale. it has 1 or 2 pinhole repairs

I'd take $300 for it , +shipping and paypal fees

If you're interested I'll send over some pics (might even go as far as pumping up the kite for you for old times sake, its been a while now that I've been riding chronos :) )
