Be interested to know how over powered these athletes are in a given wind.

this.
I saw Steven Akersadaqsda (Core rider) being interviewed and he was asked if he was looking forward to stronger winds and getting on a 7 and he laughed and said he doesn't ride 7s....
we had 35 - 40 knots here yesterday evening and I was a 10 Edge, I know the edge comes up big for a 10 but I am 109kg and how those guys who weigh 80kg are riding 9s in 35 knots is nothing short of amazing.

Between 8 and 10.
Marc Jacobs broke his 8, so was on 10, then borrowed an 8.

Kevin was going if not the highest, definitely the farthest with the longest hang time. That definitely gets the crowd excited and will generally put anyone up at the top of the highlight real in the minds of the beach going spectator.
If that were the scoring criteria, you would have seen them all on 10's.

Another factor to take into account: we're talking about Cape Town wind. Never felt anything like it, that wind is DENSE!!! First few times I was on the beach there I was like "hmmmm feels like 9m wind" but then once in the air totally OPed and switched to the 7. Ain't no place like it!
