Saw video on Facebook randomly, the guy get slingshot repeatedly quite far, looked a lot further that some of my mishap on my first overpowered C kite session.
Not sure what went wrong but perhaps he could have flagged it after the first wipeout?

Pump kite just let go the bar and it will stop moving and land on the water...
Inflatable kite sometime if u let go the bar , the bridle will mess around becouse the kite loose shape and fold ...thats the mistake i had ...foil kite its better only if very super light wind and hydrofoil...but if u dont do race competition dont need to have a foil kite..better a one strut o o strutless

Can a foil kite death loop ?
There are two or so types of death loop that a foil kite can do. I've been in many different death loops, so I understand the different types. The first type is the wingtip wrap. The long bridle wraps around the wingtip on your kite. this type can not happen on a foil kite because you can still control the kite if the wingtip is wrapped. This type of death loop will really send you on a tube though. When you get this sort of wrap just hit the primary QR. The second type of death loop is a knot in the lines. Both foils and tube kites can get this type. You can get this from a botched drift launch or a twig that gets into the lines. For this you have to hit the QR then full release. The third type of death loop is when you get a chicken line wrap around the bar. Both foils and tube kites can have this kind. In a death loop once the tube kite hits the water you have a second or two before it relaunches. On a foil, when the kite hits the water, it usually tacos or bow ties, and the death loop is finished. Also foils don't tend to loop as hard as tubes. I would say that they are definitely safer in regards to death loops at least. Where foils suck is swimming back to shore when the wind dies. These hydrofoils make you want to go out in dog fart wind and while it's great as long as you are moving, once you do a transition and lose your board speed sometimes the kite drops and you are just not getting that kite back in the air. Swimming back with a tube kite is fine you can even get inside and use it as flotation. Swimming back a long way with a foil sucks.

There's advantages and disadvantageous to both types of kites.

Oh yeah and one more kind of death loop the kind florian had, the lines wrapped around his hydrofoil. He should have done a full release on the first splash but he was probably too surprised.

The heading of this thread should read "Risks of Death Loops with Hydrofoils".

PMU :dumbo: is 100% correct.
It's common knowledge that foil kites lines prefer to get entangled with hydrofoils far more than LEI. It's a question of affinity.

Ram air kites like Flysurfer are aerodynamically inferior
That must be why none of the hydrofoil racers use them!
F U PMU! :angryfire:
