Update for me once dead kitesurfer

Postby NHKitesurfer » Tue Oct 03, 2017 9:40 pm

I posted my story here a while back on how I had died in Mexico and was miraculously brought back to life. I've been in the hospital now for 10 months and was lucky enough to have a TV crew follow me for a couple of months. I am very thankful to all those who wished me well over these past ten months including many from the kite forum. Here's a link to the story I hope you enjoy the video they made. http://whdh.com/news/specials/unbreakab ... road-back/

This story is crazy, sorry to hear about your injury and hope you’re back on the water soon. Where you on the beach before it happened? Foul play? The cause of the incident is pretty vague.

Hi Joe, your attitude is a true inspiration.
Both people fighting health issues and the fysically healthy others can take an example. So many people are just a victim of their situation and not fighting for it to change.
Thanks so much for sharing.

No no foul play, although at this point nobody is exactly sure what happened. I'd also like to thank Ruben Lenten, Nick Jacobson, and Lewis Cathern for the get well video wishes they sent me while they were competing in this year's King of the air from Cape Town. And if you live on Cape Cod this weekend will be the Epic down window with over 100 kiter participating would love to see you there if you live local.

You're a fighter man. I'm not sure I'd have it in me.
Yes, the mystery around the accident is scary.
I was blindsided while snowboarding in Italy 4-5 years ago, I was knocked unconscious instantly. I awoke, not knowing how I got there, where I was. I knew my name. After a few minutes my memory cleared. But I didn't know where I was staying or how I'd gotten to the ski area. It all worked out and I got away with a concussion and a bruised rib.
But that episode, could have just died, it felt like I had died. I realized that that's what immediate death by accident is like. Bam, your out. Game over.

Best wishes

That is a very scary story and I bet you're probably more scared than I was waking up not knowing where you were. When I woke up out of my coma I was under heavy sedation and so many drugs so that I was really not able to be scared or freaked out. I also had my lovely wife whispering in my ear that everything would be okay the entire time and I woke up not knowing I was paralyzed what is weird as it sounds I woke up knowing I be okay. And I never looked back I kept a positive attitude from the very beginning and I think that's what's healed me. I was never supposed to be able to move anything or have feeling or sensation at least that's what they told me but through hard work and having a very very positive attitude I've been able to prove them wrong.
