Any waterproof bluetooth headphones out there?

Postby Adventure Logs » Thu Nov 09, 2017 6:49 pm

I was thinking about getting a Woo 2 but now that I've heard that the Apple Watch can do basically the same, I'm starting to look for some decent bluetooth headphones to use with it while I'm out kiteboarding. I've searched a couple years ago without any luck but I'm hoping someone finally has put out a good IPX8 set out there. Any suggestions?

I have the Sony Mp3 player with bluetooth. I use it to listen to music using it's internal memory. I have it on me every time I kite, and holds up fine so far.

Then there are these cheap chinese ones that claim to be IPX7, which if true should be good enogh for kiting.

Plantronic's Backbeat Fit are highly rated for sound quality and battery performance. IPX7 though. I like that it has a safety-oriented ear tip design so that you can still hear your surroundings.

We have two pairs of the cheapos, Banggood and another, did not want a big spend on something that might get lost.
They are great. The bass sounds a bit tinny until you get the ear bud wet, then it sounds really good.
Changes kiting completely and increases enjoyment 2x!

NOT BLUETOOTH.

They are Waterproof MP3 Players.

I was expecting this thread to be about waterproof bluetooth communications. Really interested in an adapted motorcycle gizmo to be able to talk to my wife because we usually kite together. Instead of shouting to each other like we do at home hahahaa. Not into wearing helmets though.

Bluetooth is a necessity. I'm currently using iphone shuffle with cheapo headphones which works pretty great but the shuffle doesn't last more than a couple season and then needs a replacement. I'm going to get a Apple Watch with Xenser instead of a Woo 2 so I want to take advantage of the bluetooth. A couple years ago I bought a couple different headsets and none of them really lasted more than a couple sessions. I'll check out the sony ones, they might work out. Thanks
