Thanks everyone who responded!

One question remains tho:

- do you breathe IN before the trick, and OUT while doing it or something else?

The technique is clear for the weight lifting, etc. As mentioned, when we push, or pull or lift, we breathe OUT while doing it (like we release all the energy at once! Example would be when bench weight drops on your chest there is no way you'll lift that weight if out of breath, nothing to do with panic or fitness if not mistaking).

This is important, right?! We are releasing ALL the energy. When we crash, the energy is released, and how do we recover? We breathe IN. And that moment is crucial.

For me, I'm holding my breath and releasing it when I land, or crash, sometimes more successfully, sometimes less. When is less, than I'm in danger to gasp for breath under water.

What I'm looking for is a general guidance or consensus on the topic.

Cheers

If breathing is coming too hard and there is an elevated risk of breathing water, you might be hitting it a bit too hard. We have lost guys who aspirated water under the wrong set of circumstances. **Does anything else you do, hard cardio result in untoward shortness of breath? If so, you may want to see a doctor to check things out. Otherwise, you might want to back off the intensity of kite tricks while conditioning, doing some cardio training with evaluation along the way to see how you are doing. If this is just a question of simple breathhold on impact, which it may or may not be, you might look into a free diving course. Free Diving Instructors International, FII, has a course "Waterman Survival," focused on big wave and tow-in surfers to improve breath hold performance in the context of big wave wipeouts and the impacts that go with them. They work to improve your cardio efficiency through general conditioning, also how to increase oxygen tensions in tissues using free diving breath-up techniques as well as potentially lung air packing techniques to increase the quantity of air you have in your lungs. I would make sure you are good to go in general re:** before pursuing this: http://www.freedivinginstructors.com/fii/course/11 There is a lot more to efficient, safe breath holding in the water than appears on the surface. That is causing a blackout through improper procedures is fairly easy, so it is important to have an excellent instructor. Good luck!

I think I don’t breathe during a trick...it’s only few seconds...even if you fly...like 4-8 seconds.

But I know when I crash and get washed I feel missing air...

Haha, If you're breathing when you're bench pressing then you are certainly doing it wrong...

Did I ever mentioned I'm doing any bench pressing? ;) I never gave birth either, but know that ladies push, and breathe out while pushing...Ask your mum ;)

@downunder
I have literally no idea what was going on when the wife was giving birth. Truly terrifying experience. Pretty clear show of how afraid of an uncomfortable and in pain woman you should be. “Pick your battles” would apply. Only argue if they aren’t in any physical duress.

The ladies like bench pressing. Less than a man that curls in the squat rack though.

No idea what u talking about...it is preety clear, some of us will experience the lost of breath, and not afraid to admit it, and others will not experience it. Or do not think of it as a big deal.
