It's not neoprene, it's a very thin stretchy material that provides protection from the wind and evaporative cooling.

It's also quite durable.

Ok, thanks.

What I'm after is how it differs to some other compression products, like Skins or Under Armour brands?

I wear the above for Sun protection and abrasion in the water, but I do feel cold in it. Hence a sleeveless neoprene top as well for me...

Not sure what those products are. This one repels water like slick neoprene, but has near zero thickness. works similar to mystic windstopper, but fits tightly on your body. It will not make you much warmer in cold water due to thickness but makes a difference when wet and in the wind

So I finally received my top earlier this week, and works great for Florida weather. plenty stretchy very light wait and warm, but does not keep you warm if you are in the water. If you are planning on spending alot of time in cool water I would get a thinker top, but this work great for sun and wind protection. I have not tried it over a wetsuit to see if it will help as it has been to warm for a suit but will update.

Biggest complaint is the sizing it seem to be a bit smaller then the size chart, I am glad I went large even thought I should be a medium.

So in conclusion this is a great top and perfect for windy days to keep you warm and protected from the sun.

Wear a 2/2 neoprene top under it if you need warmth while swimming.

I did warn you about the sizing:

Be warned that it fits very small, I'm 5'10" 165 lbs and large is a bit snug.

I am 6'3 and 80kg / 175lbs, would you recommend XL or even XXL?

I'm 5-8 and 77kg and got a large. It's really tight, especially in the arms, and I'm not fat or muscular in my arms. If I'd gotten xl it would have had too long sleeves I bet.

One thing is the outside is slick against the inside of my wetsuit making it easy to put on the wetsuit wear under. I'll probably put it on as first layer before leaving the house so when I change into my wetsuit I'm not totally exposed.
I'll try wearing it on the outside but highly doubt it will fit over my 5-4 ripcurl flashbomb.

I probably should have picked up one of the looser wind cover ones from mystic.

A few more weeks until I start for season.

I'm 5'10 and 165 lbs and I've considered buying an XL because my L is quite tight over my 6/5/4 in the winter so if I was you, I think XXL.

It does depend if you want it skin tight like a wetsuit or with a bit of wiggle room like a wet shirt, I'm more of the wet shirt type.

As for the arms, I wouldnt' worry about the length, they wont go past your wrist and it bunches up to stay out of your way just fine.

Hey downunder, the Edge Wind Top uses Armorskin and .3mm neoprene laminated together. The Armor skin is a wind-proof, super tough material that is challenging to cut even with scissors. It offers the wind resistance of embossed neoprene (neoprene without laminated nylon material). Bare neoprene is quite fragile and easy to cut even with fingernails, so the this top offers the best of both worlds. It's not warm like a 2mm top while in the water, but it removes the wind component which I find is mostly why I get cold riding in FL.
