Sure one asks yourself what when you get older?
The answer is simple: I don’t worry since I live now. Getting old, everything hurts, little money, not getting laid? Not with me! Seeing my dad suffering, I know one thing: I won’t.
But actually, won’t be poor when I am old....I never kited less then this year due to work...but it will be worth it, that next year comes my year with the most sessions. Trick 3000, you will fall next year!
Whats work for Toby?

I raced bikes for 10 years and out of about 80 riders in my class 2-1/2 died. The 1/2 was someone who hit Armco at the side of a track, had brain damage, and no longer knew anything about who he was, his wife, children, nothing. But I quit only because I got fed up with all the boring off track time that went with the racing, but I still miss the buzz of the start line and the no hands barred racing.

I'm retired with a younger medical type wife living 20 minutes from the sea and kitesurf whenever there's wind. Can't do much with the ACL injuries, metal in my body and all the rest of the accumulated physical damage but hey, I still push as best I can and that's good enough.

Here's a video of me on a 65bhp bike playing (not racing) with 120bhp+ bikes at Portimao track in Portugal. Didn't want to push too hard because there was a slow oil leak and oil was getting onto the rear tire! Buzz? Oh yeah! :thumb:

Sounds like you wish me getting injured or even die.

What are you on about....?
Kiting close to beach users whilst at the same time preaching about safety on the voice over .....well, it's a little ironic, maybe...
As for "stony ground.......", it's a quote from a well known book.

May I be the first to wish you happy Christmas!

I liked the video to some extent but to be honest i dont think you should really try to judge other people and there lives too much Toby. i love kite surfing and would also love to kite all over the world and also in Brasil. But i like to kite once or at the most twice a week because i do other sports like mountain biking and SUP which i also love. I live in North Germany 15 mins from the Baltic Ocean with allot of wind but like you say is very challenging and gusty but its still good fun....
I have have to say i love my life and have travelled the world and seen many places (before kitesurfing was popular), and what i have learnt on my travels is that home is where the heart is and that is for me with my family, my work (photographer) and my friends and family (although my family live all over the world).

Kite surfing alone is not enough for me just too boring for me everyday - for you Toby its different i know and you are sure at the top of the sport. A lot of German people are very straight in there ways and dont like to leave there path to try something new, maybe for a few weeks :D (im english so ive experienced this first hand living and working in Germany for 20 years)

Like i said alone kitesurfing would not be enough for me, i love my family and being able to give my kids some of the good thinks in Life - teaching them how to ride off road , to surf and kitesurf , to juggle and show them how to live life to the full....

I can see where your coming from but its not really a good idea to talk like that - not everyone wants what you do or even wants to leave there country (although i did) - some people actually like the seasons in Europe, the stable and safe culture and the way of living - and im not just talking about having lots of money and a big car - infact for me its about trying to get back to basics - family life and big adventures as often as posible :)
