Best Bar 2007
For 07 we’ve completely redesigned the Waroo Bar. The design brief was simple; to build a bar worthy of the best selling kite in the world, but ‘Keep It Simple Stupid’.
For 07 we’ve introduced new user adjustable control, dual depower lines, stopper ball and a host of other features that make the new 07 bar the most flexible and practical kite control solution on the market.
45cm and 55cm bars. Even though the Waroo is available in sizes that exceed any other manufacturers SLE kites, 55cm is all you will ever need even for the largest Waroo or Waroo Pro. We recommend the 45cm bar for kites below 13m and the 55cm bar for kites 13m and above.
The 07 Best Bar is the one bar on the market you can rely on completely, we've kept everything as simple as possible and only added the features that you really need.
All the bar hardware is Chrome plated stainless for maximum corrosion resistance. we've included multiple safety systems to suit all levels and styles of riding. For the more adventutous riders amongst you we've included host of new features to make riding unhooked, and hooking back in easier than with any other bar on the market. The ergonomic shaped hand grip feels solid and secure in your hands, even with gloves on during the winter months or in colder climates.
Designed for unhooking, the 07 bar has an integral ‘stiffy-disc’ situated on the depower line between the top of the chicken loop and the underside of the bar. When a rider unhooks the bar is pulled flush with the ‘stiffy-disc’ locking the Chickenloop in place so that it neither rotates or wobbles, meaning that your Chickenloop remains fixed to the underside of the bar and is always aligned with the bar facilitating much easier.
The dual-depower line allows us to equip the 07 bar with a new stopper ball; the stopper is positioned by hand and binds onto both depower ropes when you slide the bar against it. You can now customize your maximum bar throw to suit your riding preference whilst still benefiting from the Waroo’s exceptional safety. Any rider can punch through the stopper ball, yet it holds the bar in place securely for unspinning.
HANDLEPASS LEASH COMPATIBLE
Our new chicken loop comes ready fitted with a bypass leash attachment point, when you drop the bar the depower lines are automatically pulled through the stopper ball; activating maximum depower.
DUAL LINE DEPOWER
Twinned Vectran depower lines increase the legendary durability of the Waroo Bar package, with twice as much rope you get half as much wear, and that translates to more kiting time. Our new dual line depower set up makes unspinning your bar a dream.
EVA DIE CUT GRIP
Pretty and tough, the perfect combination. Our new grip puts the padding where you need it most. with different front and back graphic you’ll never end up being ‘yarded’ by holding the bar back to front.
Stiffening and reinforcing your Chickenloop our ‘new straight plate’ reduces any potential for stretching or deformation under high load. It makes hooking back in a breeze, when combined with our ‘stiffy-disc’ it makes hooking back in after wake style moves easier than with any other bar on the market.
HIGH LOAD THREE RING SWIVEL
To make unspinning your lines even easier we’ve included a three ring marinized stainless steel high load swivel. Placed above the trim strap to maximize your effective bar travel and bring the trim strap closer to your body, there’s simply no better centre line swivel available.
PULL-PULL TRIM STRAP
Easy to reach and guaranteed not to slip our pull-pull trim strap has been improved with a new stainless eye ring that keeps everything pointing forwards even after a hard wipeout. When cleats on other bars have worn through our depower strap will still be working hard for you day after day.
DUAL OSR HANDLES
The standard in redundant safety, giving you maximum safety and launch and landing options.
All new design for 07, low friction and easy activation; simple to reset even under load, easy to fire off, even under the water. For 2007 Bestkiteboarding deliver the Best bar in the industry, setting the standards for performance and reliability by which all others will be judged, a bar that is truly worthy of the ‘best selling kite in the world’.
The 07 Best Bar now comes complete with upgraded handlepass leash. Improving safety and giving you even more attachment options to your new Best kite. Learning and performing handlepass tricks has never been any safer or easier.
Activation of the leash QR
Sliding the red plastic QR collar away from the tension adjuster ball will activate the internal QR mechanism.
This action will completely separate you from your kite should you already be unhooked from the CL.
Only consider this as a last course of action in situations where remaining attached to your kite is likely to be more dangerous to yourself and bystanders than releasing the kite completely.
Bypass/handlepass leash QR reassembly
When activated the QR mechanism splits into two separate parts, these are shown in detail on the previous page. To refit the QR slide the tip of either side of the ‘flip/flop pin’ through the ‘grey rope loop’ and then flip the pin over by ninety degrees to catch the loop.
Gently slide the QR collar upwards and over the tip of the ‘flip/flop pin’, the push the QR collar home until it rests snugly against the ‘tension adjuster’ as shown in the previous image above.
Adjusting the QR tension
The release tension of the bypass/handlepass leash QR can be adjusted to suit your personal preference. Riders performing handlepass and unhooked tricks are much more likely to require increased protection from false releases of the leash.
Two methods exist to increase the release tension.
Loosen the grub screw on the tension adjuster, an Allen key is supplied with the bar, then carefully slide the clear PU tubing that sits inside the tension adjuster towards the rope loop. Move the PU tubing no more than 1/8 inch before re-assembling and testing the QR to ensure you can still release the mechanism. Ensure the grub screw in the tension adjuster is firmly secured before using on the water.
Loosen off the grub screw inserted into the tension adjuster ball and slide the adjuster ball downwards towards the karabiner. Remember to fully tighten the grub screw before attempting to use the leash.
Only small adjustments in adjuster position are required for a significant increase in release tension, we suggest that you move it a maximum of 1/4” Inch at any one time before testing the QR function.
The combination of moving the PU tubing away from the Karabiner and moving the tension adjuster ball towards the karabiner by the recommended increments should always give a sufficient increase in release tension to preclude accidental release.
Note: Do not modify the QR mechanism with the addition of any materials or modification of any components as this will reduce the functionality of the system and may put the rider at increased risk.
