Description

Never before has performance been so easy! Impressive light wind abilities, an enormous range, forgiving flying characteristics and easy bar feeling are just some of the unique features of the new North Evo. The Evo's precise steering response always delivers predictable and controlled jumps even if your take-off is not perfect. The innovative Bridge Profile geometry optimizes airflow and gets you up and planing in extremely light air even when the Evo is fully over-sheeted. This profile balances the load distribution around the leading edge which prevents the Evo from ever back-stalling and is the key to it's acceleration in light wind. With its simple bridle configuration the Evo can be used with a four-line bar or with the 5th Element. In 4 Line mode the Evo is ideal for everyone who favors easy water relaunch and simple handling, while the 5th Element mode additionally stabilizes the kite for optimized performance, direct handling and the best safety. With it's solid Dacron trailing edge and kevlar reinforcement, the Evo is rigidly constructed for maximum durability even in extreme conditions.

Trim Tips from Ralf Groesel

North Kiteboarding EVO 08 trim tips by Ralf Groesel:

The target of the development efforts put into North EVO 08 was to construct a kite that would build up a lot of basic pull, especially in the lower wind range. In addition, the kite generates a long and constant pull. These properties benefit especially those kiters who want to ride with a large kite and a large board in a lower wind range.

The North „5th line“ and „EVO„ bar features three trim options for the back lines. Using these three options, it is possible to adjust the kite to suit one’s individual riding preferences.

I personally ride all North EVO 08 Kites on the top knot of the leader lines. This means I prefer to have the steering lines 5cm longer. Since I weigh less than 70 kg, I don’t depend on the last 10% of basic pull. I basically prefer to ride my kites fully powered in the higher wind range, and therefore I need more de-power in gusts. Moreover, kites react slightly more gently to manoeuvres when unhooked. Additionally I change the position of the “Vario Cleat” until it fits to the length of my arms. I my case I slide the Cleat 5cm in the direction of the bar. This offers you a longer de-power stroke as well.

Therefore, I recommend all kiters who focus more on de-power than on basic pull to set their front lines on the top knot of the leader lines covered up by the floater.

The North Kiteboarding bar offers you the possibility to adjust the kite within a few steps. Take our time to discover all bar features and find your perfect fit.
