While I'm surely appreciating the effort of making great instructionl videos, I still can't understand why to promote the hardest way of starting on a sinker board? Just try a rodeo start, it's easy, convinient, safe and works in any conditions on any board till about 80cm width. Lots of pros are us...
Regarding the wing, yes, low/mid aspect is the best as they are way more maneuverable. Theyr glide capabilities can be compensated by speed. I'd say most important thing is the right kite - the one that flyes further to the edge of the windwindow is the best (ramair kites are easiest to tack). And o...
C kites are great for unhooked tricks obviously. One more positive feature about them - they are great to practice the right jumping techniq, so if one can properly jump on a C kite, he will really benefit from the modern SLE kites in terms of boosting.
I'd suggest to consider the Airush Lift v3. Easy handling, lite but responsive on the bar, lots of hangtime, best seen recover (climbing up) after looping, good lowend and higend.
Can absolutely confirm Peter_Frank's statement. Although the Peaks drift like no other kite, they are quite useless in the waves comparing to a wing...
I'd recommend AIRUSH Ultra or even Ultra Team. Superlight, stays in the air longer than it has starting power. 12m should work just fine, sweatpoint would be something from 7 to 13 knots, depending on your skills and foilsize. Foiling at very low wind with an inflatable has the advantage if you drop...
As for the first board I suppose go for an inflato and dont be affraid of a bigger board (130-140l) also. They are much cheaper (easier to sell afterwards), safer at crashes, often lighter than clunky big hard boards. Just make sure it has hard release edges glued on the bottom on rails and tail and...
Thanks for sharing.Though I thought more about testing them in the race scene, not as beginners on floaty boards or speeding down the line. At the competitions on the snow/ice they seem to outperform any inflatable wing regarding upwind angles, so it would be interesting if someone has tested hard w...
I wonder if anybody has tried to use a dedicated snow/land wing on water with modern foils?
Would it be a benefit for wingfoil racing regarding going upwind, tacking and overall effitiancy due to much less drag comparing to inflatable wings?
