Re: Have you developed whiplash symptoms?

yes - bad semi-flat landing backwards from height from a gust enhanced downloop transition gone bad. A little foggy about the details but I think butt and small of back made first contact and head then whipped back. Stiff neck and pain at the edges of my range of motion - particularly looking up. Al...

Re: Used Waroos

I think the 07 Waroo's should not be slammed. The 7M Waroo was added to many quivers of riders using other brands for their bigger kites. The leading edge battens were a pain in the ass but you could take them out and performance did not suffer. The Waroo was built bomber starting that year - 08 & 0...

Re: Ya know you're a kitesurfer when......

...when you playfully ply your lady with cool foreplay remarks like, "hook in and hang on..." instead of the usual "brace yourself..." ...when you begin your day by checking 4-6 weather sites online... ...when you know the wind must not be blowing because your designing or building your next kiteboa...

Re: KITE LAUNCH/LAND NET ?

Clarification In response to comments: 1. To the comments about how easy SLE/bow kites can be self launched, this has been the method we have been using for hundreds of launches - it has obviously worked but also it has resulted in 4 treed kites with damage resulting and numerous other less than des...

Kite Launch/Land Net ?

Anyone aware of posts or website links on the topic of nets or other semi permanent structures used to self-launch and self-land kites? I'm thinking along lines of a frame set on an angle to the prevailing wind with ropes tied in a hammock type way to support the kite until the the rider tensions th...

Liquid Force 6'0" Surfboard ??

I just bought a closeout on a Liquid Force kite surfboard. I was looking for a first surfboard to add to my kite-board quiver but could not find any reviews on the board before making the deal (one left type thing). The 08 LF quads and thrusters have some information kicking around on them but I cou...

Re: KiteBuddy Self Launching and Landing Anchor System

An inexpensive alternative is to give a call to a business that sets up larger tents for social events. They sell anchors that are very similar, and are in the $15 range. Also, typically these have a rounded head to attach a rope to and therefore less rip potential. Kites do take off and elevate int...
