Re: useless kite knives

Years ago my hook knife saved my life. I crashed and landed about 6ft past my bar. This was an early C-kite. While collecting myself, I felt a line around my right ankle. I reached down and removed it but couldn't see what I was doing. Shortly afterward the kite relaunched and began to loop, pulling...

Re: Slingshot Fastrack - Innovation of the Year

A new twist on a very old concept. I had a similar system on a wakeboard back in the '90's. works great until the channel cracks then breaks. Then you have a $800 paperweight.

Re: Storing a kite with struts inflated (good or bad?)

It depends on the conditions where u live. Its very hot where I live. If I leave the plug in for a day (inflated or not) I'm guaranteed a leaky valve at the plug. If you leave your gear in the car, even when covered, expect the same problem. According to GM, On an 80 deg F day the interior temp of a...

Re: Have you developed whiplash symptoms?

I've got whiplash from a couple of hard, high speed crashes. I just took a break, had a cervesa or 2 and anti inflammitory drugs. The worst, ironically, was while demo'ing a helmet. That time I was out for a couple weeks.

Re: Who can explain this?

I saw a similar set up used by a guy who lost his legs below the knees. He couldn't use pads because they wouldn't work with his prosthetics. That one had less "loose stuff" tho.

Re: 9m Freak Dog Unleashed / EH RippEHr

I had a great day on the 9M Unleashed so I figured I would revisit my review. I was thinking of selling the kite because I use it so rarely. The wind was all over the place. A few extreme lulls below 15kt, lasting for up to 2 minutes, and the strong gusts were 40kt+ but only lasting for 30-45 second...

Re: Freakdog Unleashed Relaunch/User Freindly?

A couple more pennies on this subject. The relaunch for the EZE and the Rippehr/Unleashed is a little different than other kites. Not difficult, just different. Once you've done it a couple times you get the hang of it. Depending on your preference the EZE is a very good wakestyle kite. Some prefer ...
