No pulley delta kites

Shopping for a no-pulley delta kite. Preferable 3 strut. I'm more concerned with simplicity and ease of maintenance than "performance". I'd also love to find a kite that doesn't have one pump. Tired of worrying if my bridle is worn out or not. List as i know it Slingshot Z Mutiny F Ozone Reo Mostly ...

Mutiny S series Bridle Lengths

I have a 2012 Mutiny S series 12 M and 8M with the pulley bridle. I noticed on the most recent version of the kite they switched to a fixed bridle. I understand other changes may have been made which could make the current bridle not work on the previous series, however, I want to try it anyways. Do...

Re: Short Lines

I've been riding 17M lines for a few years now on all my kites 8M-16M. Great for waves strapless. Bad for jumping. I'd rather be a whole kite size up than on long lines, expecially on windy days. I'll demo kites on long lines (23M) and just feel miserable. Short lines prevent you from being pulled o...

Kite Graphic Removal/Coverup

Just bought some kites 2nd hand, good deal, except they are covered in Bud Light Lime Logos. As i'm not a 18 year old frat pledge I'd kind of like to get rid of them. Anybody have experience with a similar problem. Could i cover them up? Remove them?

Re: Why do we need a spreader bar?

On non-rigid harnesses the spreader bar is necessary (even when using a pulley on a line for a gybing wave harness) to prevent the harness from compressing the body. People who have removed spreader bars for a non-unhoking gybing wave harness have had ribs broken and other crushing injuries from rem...

SoCal In October - Kite size, Strapless waveriding

Traveling to LA in October to visit some friends. Whats the wind like this time of year? Would it be worth it to bring a kite? If so, what size? I exclusively ride strapless-wave. As far as my skill level I Gybe, tack, strapless air transition, east coast hurricane wave riding. I've been kiting 3 ye...

Re: Selection of equipment for the Olympic Kiteboarding Even

I had a local shaper hammer me out something 50 cm wide, no tail rocker at all, wide tail, and futures quad fin boxes spaced out a little more and placed closer to parallel than a regular board. Put in the biggest G10 futures I could find. Goes upwind fast as hell(not as fast as the race board) but ...

Re: Selection of equipment for the Olympic Kiteboarding Even

I think that like in sailing and windsurfing both one design and box rule classes should exist. They accomplish different things. Box rule classes head to much higher costs especially due to the decreased competitive lifespan of equipment, however, theses classes bring in the best sailors. Furthermo...

Re: How to choose a surfboard for kiting?

I recommend just to get a lot of different boards. Buy them used, don't spend more than $400 I've got a high speed quad(naish global), a thruster(6'3" surftech), a skimboard, a race board, and a trunk sized board(4'10" Slingshot globetrotter - current favorite). Every board has its place based on th...
