Re: Slingshot ghost 4m buckling under high winds starting loads.

I have 4,6,8,10 Ghost. Yes the 4 and 6 will buckle if you send them to hard. I think all small kites will? My SSTs did the same thing. Now I pump the 4 and 6 hard (real hard). I also am aware when I send kites to send them more horizontally to not overload them and work myself up on foil (not in one...

Re: High wind foiling

I love 4m wind in Gorge. usually around 40mph starts to get hard to launch and walk, but once out in swell very manageable with skills. Ride strapless 37" 683/91 Moses. SS Ghost 4,6,8,10. weigh 190lbs.

Re: Slingshot UFO

I was in Gorge when Oregonkiter was on his 7m UFO. I was on my 6m Ghost. He went in and got his 5m UFO. I was stayed on my 6m Ghost. My friends were on 4m SST and 5m Enduro. My other friend was his 6m Ghost the whole time. I ride with all these fellas for years. Oregon kiter and myself rode SSTs las...

Re: SS Ghost kites

Update as I created this thread. I own 6, 8 and now 10m v1 I ride in mountain winds ( gusty/holey/ challenging lakes) I ride strapless 37"KS with 683s. I am advanced to a point and weigh 180lbs. Came from SSTs (5,7.9.12) I have rode the 8 in lots of different mountain winds. I like it. It has a ton ...

Re: shimming Moses 633

Bottom-line for me is I have found the sweet spot for 683s. And this is with NO shim. Glad I experimented and found what I like. It was night and day. I am still telling everyone on the beach how great the ride is now. I think that is when you knw you have found it (when you come in and say that foi...

Re: shimming Moses 633

I rode 633 for a year and 683s. I had 2* shim in rear wing and loved it. I ride strapless and now moved to KS 37". I also have 450 stab. I sold 633 and only ride 683s as I like it better. A friend sold me the Stringy Fuselage which compensates the mast forward which allows less foot pressure. On old...

Re: SS Ghost kites

Tom do you know who? My concern is 12 is slow, but I bet it is not. My guess is a 12 would be a good jump from 8.
I think a 10 would be close to 8 and if anything I could jump from 6 to 10.

Re: SS Ghost kites

Thats true and I use the numbers only for range. I compare them to the SST ranges.
Still would like t hear a foil rider review of 10 and 12? and maybe more reviews of Ghost in general.

SS Ghost kites

I pulled the trigger and got a 6 and 8 Ghost. I only foil. I come from SSTs (5,7,9,12) I mostly rode 9 and 12 in Utah as we get holey wind and sometimes very light in summer. I mainly rode 5 and 7 in Gorge and 7m in baja. I ride 91/683s Moses with a Kanaha Shapes 37 strapless. I plan to get a 4m for...

Re: Small pocket board - looking for recommendation/advice

I started on 4'6"DC, went to 3'6" DC then to a homemade 37" (94cm) I loved its less swing weight. I bought a 42" Micro. I liked micro but don't need extra length and sold it. Now I have 2 37" boards. One homemade 37" and a Kanaha Shapes 37" Strapless and as said smaller board makes you ride foil no...
