North Rebel 2012?

One question for those in the know....What's the idea of the elastic bungy rope on the tips of the Rebel? Where the steering line connects to the kite pigtail, the line is looped through an elastic chord. The other end of the chord is attached to the back of the leading edge, level with the front li...

Re: 2102 North Vegas for waves?

Interesting thread, despite the egos.... I've been flying North Vegas' pretty much exclusively since 2006 and riding waveboards exclusively for the past three years. I do not profess to be any type of expert, just the average joe. I'm rarely in "down the line" conditions and have never unhooked on a...

Re: Strapless - leash or no leash

Correct me if I am mistaken, but nowhere throughout this thread is any advice that states something like: "Should you chose to use a board leash, I would advise that wearing a helmet may offer some protection against a recoiling board." Having once snapped a board with my head,(it hurt), more ofton ...

Re: Riding a directional - differences to a TT???

Hi Pike, Hope your first day out is going/went well. Here's an angle from closer to home that I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned. I learnt to gybe my waveboards without straps and found the process far easier. Without the straps you can find the balance of the board, learn what works best as yo...

Re: Vegas08 - reverse valves not closing on struts

The temperature is the problem, the plastic hardens up in the cold. Store your kite somewhere relatively warm or carefully warm the valves with a hair drier. If you can manage to transport your kite with the struts already pumped, do this in the warmth before you head off to your kiting spot... Good...

Re: Resin8 Surfboards

Many thanks for such a positive response Top Hat, looks like I might be in with a chance with my board. :D I knew the boards are up to the job so there is no way mine should be breaking up on it's second outing especially since my jumps were only over three foot Ainsdale mush. The fin system i...

Resin8 Surfboards

Has anyone tried them as kitesurf waveboards? They are superlight epoxy boards with some great shapes. I picked up a 2nd hand one, a 6' 1" squash tail that had been adapted for kitesurfing and fitted with footstraps. How much had been done to reinforce the board I do not know but, apart from the odd...

Re: NSP surfboards for kiting

Yes, NSP boards are good, though I only have experience of kiting with one in particular. I bought the 5' 6" Fish brand new, to learn the riding strapless thing. As you say, it was a cheap option to get into riding surfboards. I found that the relative wide board of the fish style was ideal for lear...
