Re: FYI Colorado

Steamboat Lake is definitely great but not that many days with good wind in winter. So that's why everybody says rabbit ears... You can find some wind up there even if it is dead in the valley.

Ok. Good to know to keep it close to the ground next time :D :D

Re: FYI Colorado

Hey, hope it's not too late... :) Definitely not 9M. I usually ride 13/16 up there. Had a great session on Monday with my 13m (14-17mph). There is some nice wind in forecast for this weekend (15-20mph) Not sure how it'll be during the week though :/ So if only 1 kite - I would bring 12M. Looks like ...

Re: FYI Colorado

It's pretty steep on both sides. East side is more open. Don't know what's the typical wind up there, but almost everytime I was there the wind went up from both sides (even when forecast was W) :) So this spot worked for me 39.662601,-105.887532 you can go from the pass or from that turn down there...

Re: I need some info on skis for snowkiting.

btw you can find some used split board too for good price I guess (maybe more likely in Europe),... They used to have some troubles - ice in bindings and those 'connection points' so it was tricky to put that board back to one piece up there :D :D But now it looks better :)

Re: I need some info on skis for snowkiting.

Hey! I'm starting with snowkiting but I've spent pretty much all my life on A/T skis in backcountry :) It's not problem to buy any downhill skis and mount A/T binding on it, but the difference is weight. Then you will definitely need A/T boots. Those are again about weight. You would probably want s...
