Re: Chicken Loop & Fireball - Harness Modification

If there's room, run a rope slider on the spreader bar in addition to the normal spreader bar hook. This would allow using the fireball QR without the ball/stick part, just attach the Fireball to a ring on the slider rope or if you want to get fancy, dig out the metal piece from the ball/stick part ...

Re: ISO chicken loop

^^Good info, thank you. Just to clarify a bit, when activating the QR (by pushing the collar away from the user) one needs to use additional effort or force on the loop with a rocking motion to get it to release from the internal mechanism, is that accurate?

Re: ISO chicken loop

^^ All sorts including infexion, but the older Jeely and the older Epic do not require any disassembly to thread in a new 5mm centre line. Not seen any other traditional style chickenloops for sale for quite a while that are suitable for 5mm line, other than the Kiteattitude already suggested. The ...

Re: DIY bar with inverted QR

I have in the meantime added a swivel between the spreader bar and quick release, shortened the leash and added straps to the rear line line trim rings for easier access. Some footage of the bar in action: https://youtu.be/i1UsRdBHGiQ?si=ZCt-85hhiTGRxD-m I'm betting you have your reasons but why no...

Re: ISO chicken loop

I'm posting this here as well as under rynhardt's "diy bar with inverted QR". What are others doing these days for QRs on DIY bars? Infexion Seatbelt, BRM style ball and pin, Wichard 2600 series, various cast off QRs from older bars, something else? One thing I've noticed with new bars, almost all h...

Re: DIY bar with inverted QR

Along the same lines as the screwdriver QR, but slightly more upmarket.. I present the modified Cabrinha leash QR. Really the only modification is replacing the original dyneema line with a looped line so I could easily attach it to my harness D-ring, and avoid metal-to-metal contact. https://youtu...

Re: What's Up With Naish?

Today I went on the Naish site to figure out what sizes the Dash was because I'm interested in a new hybrid kite for unhooking turns out it was discontinued a couple of years ago. Then I saw the Dash wave kite was discontinued last year. However they do have a new big air kite, the Naish Phoenix. I...

Re: What's Up With Naish?

All for a tight curated lineup of offerings but their site, at least the other day, looked pretty modest and weak.

Re: Magazine Cover

#2 is a a nice image overall except for the rider's arm is across his face and the dark shirt doesn't pop like #3. Also the shot should be cropped in tighter. #3 is tempting but the the kite lines look weird (maybe retouched out) and the moment itself is a little off, a bit odd, kinda like he's dest...
