Re: First plywood kiteboard

Hello, I just went back to project. The board starts to be all messy but it's my first time working with polyurethane and I've already learned much about it . The board is not perfect and will not be (the wooden patch in the top left corner is where i f***** up the fin hole) - I just want to hit the...

Re: First plywood kiteboard

Hello there! After a longer while we got back to the project. The board is heading more into the wake direction (bought the boots recently  ). I bought the plywood (9mm thick) and today we routed a channel for the edges and started drilling the holes for inserts. We predrilled them with a ...

Re: How much underpressure?

@jlsail Could you post a picture of how this exactly works? Because I assume that it's similar to this below but the build of yours is quite different, I don't see te vacuum hole perpendicular to the rest of device.

How much underpressure?

Hi!
I wanted to vacuum laminate my kiteboard, but I don't have the pump yet. How much underpressure would I need to laminate a board? Is it possible with a hand vacuum pump? Or do I have to buy an electric one? Thanks for your responses!

Re: First plywood kiteboard

I realize the actual rocker will be smaller and there will be a bit of springback, but that's fine. If I glue the plies in shape first, how do I route a channel for edges and taper the whole board? I thought about doing it first with a flat piece of plywood before any contact with lamination table.

Re: First plywood kiteboard

Very thanks for your help! But is the spacing between bolts the same with boots and with straps? Are these 6 inches also applicable for footpads? At the moment I am planning to build a wakestyle board but I'll buy a set of pads for it - it'll just make everything cheaper, we're a bit short on budget...

Re: First plywood kiteboard

Here are all the dimensions, this is only an initial project and as we progress some dimensions might change. http://i66.tinypic.com/284f9i.png We are building a wakestyle board and after doing some research I figured out that wake boards tend to have about 6 or 7 cm of rocker. We will probably bend...

First plywood kiteboard

Hello there! My friend, Kuba, and I (my name is Wojtek, nice to meet you!) are building our first ever kiteboard. We have about 4 years of experience in building longboards, our work had many ups and downs during this time but we've gained a lot of precious knowledge on working with plywood and fibe...
