Re: What other gear should I buy / replace?

I live on a private island, so no need to worry about that.

What other gear should I buy / replace?

It has taken me over a decade to get to the ideal quiver, but I feel I now have gotten pretty close. I live in the Caribbean for most of the year and go out on the water any given day. I do kitefoiling, wingfoiling and efoiling (twintip when I am back in Europe) from 0 - 30 kts. In the past I have h...

Re: What's the smallest kite you are able to use in light/moderate wind?

Just wanted to update this post. I have been here in Progreso, Mexico since early Jan. The wind has generally on the mild side, 10-14 knots. There were El Norte storms every 1-2 weeks which would bring in 18 knot winds but there were also directly onshore and created big disorganized waves which ma...

Re: Every foiler light wind dream

How is this ever going to be practical? You tow yourself into a wave and let the etow behind?

At this price point an efoil makes a lot more sense. Not sure what niche Takuma is trying to fill here.

Re: e foil your foil

Amazing! This is such a great solution for a reasonable price. Hope the quality of the product is up to par with LIFT and Fliteboard.

Re: your smallest foil kite

At those windspeeds with gust I find foiling highly uncomfortable, even with a small kite one easily becomes overpowered. From 30kts+ I switch to twintip.

Re: European vs American kite culture

Since I live on both continents, I am going to add some fuel to this dumpster fire discussion. Here are some facts: 1. There are more kooks in the US than Europe. Somehow a lot of ‘tough’ American guys prefer to go kiting with out classes and even teach their girlfriends, a recipe for disaster. 2. K...

Consider Greece or one of the Greek islands.
Beautiful places, very safe.
Plenty of wind all year round and you get residency if you buy for 250k.
Thanks, but it’s 15 degrees celsius in Greece at the moment, not quite the balmy temperatures I am hoping for.

Re: Where would you buy for up to $200K around North Atlantic?

I've been considering buying property in either Portugal or Spain, but both have issues with how long I can use the property for in a given year (can only stay up to 90 days at a time as an American in Schengen Europe) and so have been considering how to get a residency visa in these countries. I w...

Re: Where would you buy for up to $200K around North Atlantic?

Hmmm, I personally would buy a 200K sailboat. Then you don’t have to settle on a place, just a region maybe. Thanks! I like the suggestion but in my experience a sailing boat is much more expensive in upkeep, depreciation, harbor fees, etc. A wise man once told me that anything that flies, floats o...
