Re: Q-powerline suppliers in EU

Haha, knots in unsheeted dyneema. That decreases the strength by approximately 70%, and the fact that those North lines snap at 200DaN when sleeved (splice is worse) it makes you think how much those lines can handle when knotted... Do you have testing equipment? And for the record, I am fairly sur...

Re: Q-powerline suppliers in EU

figure 8 knots are not required with Q line. What knot is recommended? I seem to recall being told either from the manufacture or a distributor that a clean figure 8 was the only acceptable knot. And pulling on a line is not a test. We need to have average breaking loads on knotted lines. All knots...

Re: Mae West & Buoyancy, should we or shouldn't we?

I agree that it should be a personal choice. I hate the nanny state trying to regulate everything.... .......I know him personally and he is a good guy, so yeah it wasn't cool to give him an insulting nickname. The problem with sarcasm is that without facial or body inflection, it is often lost on ...

Re: Q-powerline suppliers in EU

for some reason he sews on a added loop end, which is not needed, In fact I would not want that on my lines, there is no need and it limits what you can do with these lines,..... Have you done, or seen any data on breaking strength when you knot Q-powerline? I have heard of some test results from a...

Re: Fukushima - isn't it time we started worrying?

Yeah, But hey, Matty is just visiting this Euro (German) forum in the absence of decent US one. And trying to dominate in every-single-conversation like Yanks usually do when overseas. He doesn’t spellcheck Toby, does he? ;) Which says everything... Well no reply from Cappy on the lifejacket shamin...

Re: Duotone Line Test - wtf?!

Hmmm, that sounds harsh Matteo. I've been using North/Duotone bars for many years. This is my experience and the general consensus of every rider I meet who has used, or is using North (now Duotone) lines. They are junk and do not last. However, I do know what they are going for with these lines. G...

Why not ask for information then? The false image is inflammatory and has no place in any kind of normal conversation.....
I will defend Cappy in this - this is simply how his mind works.

Re: Fukushima - isn't it time we started worrying?

As to buoyancy, should be another thread, personally I had strong feelings about not being forced to wear it, so Mae undermines all that but she's a Seppo, so doesn't worry me. Impact vest should be enough even on fresh water if there's a wetsuit involved...... I agree with you in totality on this....

Re: Fukushima - isn't it time we started worrying?

Mae? I've decided to call you Mae, after Mae West and that thing you kitesurf in... Thanks for the loving nickname. But I only wear flotation in freshwater, not when kitesurfing in ocean surf. So it is only half accurate. But thanks again anyway, Cappy. Now that aside, any thoughts on poking fun at...

So just from the pic, any chance Peter Stewie is designing for the New North?
