Re: retiring in Portugal to kite

Take a look at Obidos/Foz do Arelho area, you should be in that area soon anyway. Water is probably not as warm as you'd like, outside of Algarve you'll probably consider everything to be kind of cold, but there's a big lagoon there, a few villages and towns close by, and will certainly be more affo...

Re: Waist Harness

I'm really happy with the Manera EXO. Super comfortable and great lower back support.

Re: Gear Purchasing Advice

FYI, Switch support told me the bars should be back in stock within a week or two.

From what I've read here and in Switch's forum, most 4 lines bars with equal line length and single front line release should work.

Re: Flat water in Portugal.

Kiting is forbidden in Lagoa de Albufeira during the summer. Lagoa de Obidos, near Peniche (about 1h north of Lisbon) is an option. The area closest to the sea is also forbidden in the summer, but the area further inland, near the sailing club is open all year. (kitecontrol.com is a school there, I ...

Re: Beginner waterstart - where my kite should be?

Speaking as a fellow beginner and engineer, I'm not sure there's one right answer for your question. (I'd like to be proven wrong, of course, that kind of information would also help me!) There's just too many variables. I'm willing to bet that it with two different kite models or even board sizes i...

Re: Waterstart - directions kite and board relative to the wind

I'm at that stage myself, in fact I just came back from a lesson where I got to ride my first 10 meters or so :D, so I'm following this topic. To add my 2 cents, my (very limited) experience is that fixed points of reference are just distracting, one more thing to be looking at, but maybe it works f...

Re: Beginner looking for board advice

Thanks for the input!

I'll see how the next few lessons go with the bigger boards the school uses.

Beginner looking for board advice

Hi all, I'm currently taking classes in a local school and I'm starting to look at buying my first kite and board, and I could use some advice. I'm 1,72m/75kg, my local spots are usually in the 15-20 kts range, occasionally a little higher. Gusts usually to 24-28 kts. I will be kiting mostly in the ...

Re: You love it - SUP and kite shop in Dusseldorf - Do not buy!

I bought a harness and an impact vest, both with great prices, and just got it delivered, took a week since I placed the order, and if not for the long easter weekend, it would probably have been less than a week. I had a small question regarding the payment method that I never got a reply to, and i...
