Im 230 lbs, I have a couple of big boards. A george Animal 180cm wide and floaty. I also have a Liquid Force Switch 185.

8 mph is enough for the Speed 17 for me, but maybe first time users would be better of in 10 to 14mph.

XBow 16 and Speed 17 try-out

Hi

Just wondering if anyone in the LA area would be intrested in letting me try their XBow 16 in exchange for trying out my Flysurfer Speed 17?

I'm thinking of Belmont Shores as the place to do it?

Cheers

I always have my retractable leash on my harness. I am using it less these days, but I will always have it handy. Starting to ride strapless so I will be needing it more again. I'll use it when I'm kiting large swell with not much wind. It's a pain to body drag upwind in large swell. As for using a ...

I used to vacation in Cadaques just north of Rosas. My favorite spot was San Pere Pescador just south of Rosas. This was a few years ago and things could changed. There is a local thermal there and a great sandy beach. Water is flat and choppy most of the time Here is a link: http://www.kitebeaches....

Intresting test, but how a kite behaves at the zenith and how it behaves in the window is often totally different. When I first tried a Peter Lynn Venom it felt really light at the zentih. Felt pretty dissapointing. Felt like the wind was to lite. As soon as you would fly it around things change dra...

Hi Marcus There are some great spots. 1)Belmont Shores in Long Beach is great for flat water... not the cleanest. Wind is Pretty reliable. Don't know of any camping there.Seal beach is close by with a bit more waves. You could also visit the Queen Mary. It's close by. 2)Leo Carillo. Has camping walk...

I'm 185 and my biggest board is 138 so don't go by me for low end. If I wanted low end I'd get a 17mtr. If you want a comparison I'd say it compares to a 19mtr LEI powerwise but that's where the comparison ends. Mike. The Speed 17 in a user review compared favorably to a Contra 23.5 Ive flown some ...
