Change The trim. ..below the bar was a past mistake...nobody will do it again...its useless and dangerous
Why do you say that? I think they are far superior to above the bar trims. Main reason is you get twice the "depower". I've kited with them for years and have had no problems.

Re: Kite companies - please stop the wakestyle hype!!!

I second this. I want to see more "mowing the lawn". That's my favorite style. Or better yet, underpowered sloggy mowing the lawn, that what I do best. Kind of like pushing the lawn tractor when it's broke down.

Re: Unhooking for big boys!!

Exactly as I was saying, he's not gripping the bar tight enough and it's getting ripped off of his hands. No, I think he's doing it wrong. I bet he's going too slow which gives a very deep edge. When he starts edging, it just increases bar pressure, but the board is stuck deep in the water. There's...

Re: Unhooking for big boys!!

Do you have a cable park nearby? It's well worth it, even though the kite is more forgiving than the cable. But Starsky nailed it, it's the direction of travel. Try slowly edging up into the wind. Once the pressure gets too much in the hands, go back downwind.

Re: What is this trick?

It's not a Bel-air at all. It's a back-roll transition from toe side.

Re: Kite Crash 9

This is why most riders switch to strapless surf and foils.

Re: Is the twintip a dying breed?

It's harder to excel at something than be mediocre at a lot of things. Most riders go TT, strapless surfboard then foil reaching moderate competence at each but excelling at none. It takes more and more time and effort to make small improvements once you reach a certain level.

Re: Unhooked self-launch for safety

This is nuts. 1. How many accidents happen in the first 2 seconds after launch? Yes, you are putting the kite in the air unhooked but you are quickly hooking in. If this is going to make any difference, you need to walk to the water unhooked. 2. It's tough to walk around the beach unhooked, I would...

Re: How low can your tube kite go?

How does everyone get accurate wind readings on the water at kite height? Even at the water's edge, hand held anemometer's generally read quite low. The only way I see is if you have a sailboat with a wind meter on the mast. The reason I ask, is from my experience, some of these numbers are question...

Re: Switch QR failed me

With this type of release (which I think is still the best), often instead of grabbing the "release part", the rider grabs just above the chicken loop and tries to push away the whole assembly (which obviously doesn't work). I think switch is still the easiest to release when you are "blind" since i...
