Why do you say that? I think they are far superior to above the bar trims. Main reason is you get twice the "depower". I've kited with them for years and have had no problems.

I second this. I want to see more "mowing the lawn". That's my favorite style. Or better yet, underpowered sloggy mowing the lawn, that what I do best. Kind of like pushing the lawn tractor when it's broke down.

Do you have a cable park nearby? It's well worth it, even though the kite is more forgiving than the cable. But Starsky nailed it, it's the direction of travel. Try slowly edging up into the wind. Once the pressure gets too much in the hands, go back downwind.
