Used kites - no user manual :o   You can download the manuals here http://usa.cabrinhakites.com/main-support/information/user-manual-downloads.html When leashed on the front line, releasing or pushing the bar fully out (if you can reach that far) is the first stage. Depending on circumst...

yes, your leashed suicide. your better off leashing to a front line (cab) when launching and then switch to suicide. But if you are asking the question why are you leashing suicide? Because that's where my instructor told me to put it. Didn't mention any other options. Because be an idea to launch ...

It seems the general consensus is that the gear is safer but the same mistakes are made.
If people rely too much on the belief in the safer gear, they can get complacent.
I like to see experienced people with helments on. Maybe shows they are aware of the risks.

Hi Feli, The Cabrinha Omega has light steering in 1:1 mode. A friend tried my 9m Omega back-to-back with a 12m Switchblade and says the Omega is lighter (which may not be a fair test) and I also found it easy to steer with one hand on a 55cm Contra bar. He said it was perfect for cruising upwind wit...

I also have a 14 Contra and a 9 Omega and I just converted my Contra 221 pully bar to fly 1:1 for my Omega. I flew it last night and it works great. The key is to set the knots on the steering lines right. First set your bar up like the instructions for verifying your lines are the proper length. Y...

Just an update. I used a 55cm 2006 Contra bow bar and set the kite up to 1:1 mode by adjusting the bridle. To get the kite to just drop from the sky in wind near the bottom of it's operating range, I put the knots on the rear leader lines at 17" or 43cm from the knot on the end of the leader lines. ...

I would suggest taking your kite to your authorized Cabrinha retailer to see if there were any defects in manufacturing that caused the tear. Contras have a one year limited warranty. Although many of these photos document a tear in the kite, it takes a good visual inspection to determine whether a...

From reading the Starkites info, it sounds like it will release when you push through with the bar if you assemble it with the pin in position 1, but no information on the force required. You would need to use the Starkites depowerline because the diameter would be crucial to the cam releasing prope...
