Re: I used to love North Kites......

I just find peoples brand loyalty a little annoying, I'm not loyal to any brand, but refuse to be raped by North or Cabrinha, what extra are they offering us for the money...answer = nothing! Brand loyalty drives up prices across the board! I don't understand why anyone would buy an average carbon b...

Re: I used to love North Kites......

If your happy paying silly money for North gear, that's fine by me. £350 for a North bar, and a 4 week wait for replacement lines, and you can't choose to use a different brand's bar, with a better depower rope, if you like that bar more!?! North do make great kites...but they're not any better than...

Re: Kite durability

as much as nobody wants to hear this: kites are disposable items, they all are about the same in durability, some maybe slightly better than others but all about the same. pick a kite by how it flies, not how long it lasts. who wants a kite that lasts 5 years if it flies poorly? ride it hard and re...

Re: I used to love North Kites......

sorry but he was right even the 4 line kites have a higher split on the front lines than most other kites PITA Every 4 line North kite I have seen has the unnecessary high splitting Y...pretty sure ALL of them have it. My mate recently had to wait 4 weeks for replacement lines from North. We tried ...

Re: Kite durability

All kite brands have build products with some problematic issues so far, no question!!!! But... as an end consumer you more likely get a good product that is made out of higher quality materials if you keep this issue in mind when selecting the product which you want to buy. The Naish Parks are bui...

Re: I used to love North Kites......

North kites also suck because they can't be flown off a normal 4 line bar, due to the stupid and unnecessary, high splitting Y they insist on using! This means that you're pigeon holed into using there rip off £350 bar! North is a mugs brand, only a mug would spend £860 on a twin tip

Re: I used to love North Kites......

Yes they can wear eventually, and yes I have checked, and yes I have replaced one. It looked dodgey so I replaced it. That's one replacement in 5 years and about 700 hours. The most used single kite was 180 hours. It cost $40 for the full part and took 10 minutes to replace. Are you listening north...

Re: Kite durability

Something that is often overlooked is the actual shape of the kite in question. For example, F-One Bandits are known to tear easily when crashed hard on the water. I have seen a few of these tear straight down the middle. I think this could be due to the heavy delta design, when they are crashed har...

Re: I used to love North Kites......

Cabrinha depower lines don't wear. Don't be so confident and be sure to check your gear regularly because they DO WEAR!!! PU covered de-power lines wear much slower but they wear at the point where the line comes out of the PU sheath, due to twisting. This can be dangerous as its impossible to see ...

Errrm yes it is! Every single Ozone kite flies better than the Rebel, they all have no pulleys and no 5th line. Ever flown the Rebel unhooked? Dont, it's shite!
