Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

That tow in looked really fun.
Are they bringing a 1500-1600 maybe mid AR version for prone or less than hawaiian waves?
Or doea that not work?

Re: Foil board

Many times I am grateful to be able to just step off the board rather than crash harder with torque on my legs and back, even after years at it. Rails that are rounder or beveled in the front half of board especially catch less when touching down or grazing chops amd wave crests. Sharper at tail is ...

Re: Foil board

Thats my cue, then: I learned strapless though my first session was on a borrowed strap board. I didnt get both feet in straps - maybe board was set up wrong?. It was hard to get enough weight forward. Anyway, it only takes a session or two to find foot positions that work, and within 10 you should ...

Re: Localism - How to keep people out of your kite spot

There technically is a local ordinance banning kiting in this area If you know the locals, get them to rid you of the ordinance. And put up with visiting kiters. Or be an ass by kiting in spite of it, while keeping others out. You risk that others will learn that the locals and their government are...

Re: aerogel in foil boards

Aerogel is very light, very brittle, not very strong, or very cheap. Maybe it could be used somehow? I don’t know. If you somehow saved 2 kg out of a 5kg 100L board, you might be able to decrease the volume by what, 2L to have the equivalent buoyancy? But keep in mind, this will change the board sha...

Re: TT rails

I vote for softer between feet, hardening to more square at tips. Gives good precision feel, release and speed when riding fast off back foot, good grip/stability when edging hard, carving with full rail engaged, or slamming though chop.

Re: First wing board size: must it be weight + 40?

Buoyancy force = mass of object * gravity (density of fluid/density of object)

So yes, 100 L inflatable, being lighter, is more buoyant than 100 L hard board.

Re: Ratchet Bar

Do it with a fifth line instead, if you can? Simpler. Slingshot and rrd lei kites did this 15 yrs ago. For a bit i used a fifth line running through the bar to a pully just above the cl then back to a cleat on a floating collar that rested on top of the bar. This made the 5th line automatically tigh...

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

On the numbers It’s hard to see leaving kitefoiling. Doubles the available sessions for most seasons where I am, on east coast US. Not much speed difference, but huge difference in sailing angles, allowing safer and much more fun up and downwind trips even in 10-12 knots. Wingfoil, kitesurfboarding,...
