By the way, I'm hunting for the right 6'6" surftech surfboard now. If anyone has a surf-tech or other "pop-out" board model they can recommend at about this size, I would like to know. More board is the way to go, surfingwithkites, you see the future on the board size, I'm pretty sure. But have to g...

Well, I rode twice today, after listening to all the positive advice (and passing over some negative comments). I particularly liked the Kiteworld comment, by the way. However, I ride alone here on my own little island, and am not really too impressive, so I don't think Kiteworld will be looking for...

Unhoooooked with a bow in the waves

Hello All - Rode a nice gusty session in good surf strapless with my SLE 12 today. Winds were a little gusty, maybe 15 to 22. on On maybe 7 or 8 waves, I completely pulled my depower strap, unhooked to surf a nice wall, and got yanked off my edge pretty quickly, and outran that lip that I oh so badl...

The relevance of size doesn't matter to me too much in this shot, the lip is far, far away. Hell, you could drop your kite and it doesn't look like it would even get touched. You could probably relaunch it quick and catch the wave right after it... Show some whitewater and lip, better yet with some ...

Really, this post is going a little bit off course. I've seen lots of rippers all over the world. Even if Felix won this contest, he'd be lucky to make the top 20 in the sport in my book. What's the criteria for winning? If a big nose and an unfriendly and cocky attitude get points, I can see how he...

Unhooked Tricks - Caution Answer 16 or Flexifoil Ion 15

To start off, advanced rider. Own switchblades 16,12,9. Most of the year, wave riding in North Florida is good, and my kites have served me well with my strapped surfboard. But it is now summer, and though we've had some o.k. winds, has not been much surf. Doing lots of hooked in tricks on a twin ti...

Replacing Bow-Kite Bridles with Qline - Ok???

I've replaced a factory broken bridle-line, which supports the frontline pulley, with a length of Q-line. After 7 sessions, all looks good, no wear on the outside of the qline, at the sheathing. Any opinions out there about the suitability of qline for bridles and having pulleys run over them? I rid...
