Re: Aluula Flite's Dangerous Flight

Well, if you were on a nude beach with a buncha guys running around, at least you didn't grab/yank the wrong bar altogether.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Hey Mickey, I managed to hit a few good spots on the Sea of Cortez while heading south. We've been in La Ventana a while now and the whole family is having a great time (except for all the powder we're missing). My wife says we're staying here til she can ride both ways staying upwind! We'll be back...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

You guys are killing me. That soft white stuff looks nice. None of that down here in Baja Sur. Just day after day of 9m side onshore winds with lumpy wind swell on deserted beaches. I do have to wear a wetsuit, and I can get just a little chilly while toweling off before heading in to find some fish...

Re: Bridle Shrinkage

I'm in my mid forties and am also experiencing the standard shrinkage issues. I've tried yanking on all the parts and pieces but it doesn't seem to help. Not happy about it but not much to do about it I reckon.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Nice work Mickey! Parker and I tried that same day but got skunked. I got the snow machine sorted out to head up Dunton road to the Meadows. Nice hills for anything S to W. I can tow a couple folks up there, so I'll try to reach out for a good day when we can get a posse together. dunton rd 2-20.jpg

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Mickey, Just think light thoughts and go fast! I was actually wearing a PFD and picks of life but was glad that I didn't need to use them. The US Basin skin is maybe 15 minutes longer than the normal Big Mac approach. Or do the regular and kite traverse south and drop in via 25-30 degree slopes. I a...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

PSA: The regular Big Mac area is heavily wind scoured and slabbed, except for very small pockets of softer snow. US Basin was much softer yesterday and worked well with good NW winds, especially at the top end of the cirque. The sun was out and the temps were balmy! 20200213_145029.jpg 20200213_1411...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Mark, you bum! Tobago sounds perfect right now. Ridgway Reservoir froze over solid with 3-8" ice. Just enough snow sticking on top to hold an edge. Nothing too exotic but go ahead and throw your skis and kite in the car if driving by and blast a few laps.
