If you want a board that go easy through chops, goes upwind without having to care about it, gentle to knees and ankles, and you don’t feel the need to jump: why not a Tiki? Very relax to ride, and with your 7m you will start at 15 knots no problem. Which is not the case with the Mako, which needs ...

I'm 92Kg or 200 freedom corns and the 150 was perfect for me. Full disclosure: now on a Shinn Monk 43 and loving it the Monk is better for jumping and flat water, has a wider range of uses than the mako but is not better than the mako in chop and does not have the mako's 'air cushion' magic ride.

The guy upwind has more responsibility IMHO. Yes the guy downwind could have more situational awareness and changed course but end of the day the whole hazard was created by the jumper mistiming the jump (been there, done that so I'm not judging....)
